SWEET Recipe 4 You

I've had this recipe since 1991!
I tried taking a photo of the magazine clip, so you could have some kind of visual ~ as you can see... it's a tad worn : -)

edit  8-14-10
photo was lost somehow
will replace asap.

it's one of my all-time-favorites... although it only gets made *maybe* once a year
It's from one of the "Women Weekly" mags
(I believe)

Let me know how you like it, if you decide to give it a try.

*Chocolate Peanut Cream Cheese Squares*
( I added cream cheese to the name because after all, it's what makes it SO good!)

1 cup margarine

6 (1oz) squares Bakers Semi-Sweet Chocolate

1 cup Bakers Angel Flake Coconut

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

1/2 cup chopped unsalted peanuts

2 (8oz) pkgs Philly Cream Cheese, softened

1 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Microwave 3/4 cups margarine and 2 ozs. chocolate squares on HIGH 1-2 minutes or until melted when stirred, stirring every 30 seconds.

Stir in crumbs, coconut and peanuts. Press onto bottom of 13x9 baking pan and chill for 30 minutes.

Mix softened cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until well blended and creamy.

Spread over crust mixture and chill 30 minutes.

Microwave remaining margarine and chocolate squares on HIGH 1-2 minutes or until melted when stirred, stirring every 30 seconds.
Spread over cream cheese layer. Chill; cut into squares.
Enjoy!

Stress Test Results

I got good news this morning  ~ after being put into a state of feeling like i was having an ACTUAL ♥ attack ~ all calmed down about 15 minutes after the treadmill. The doctor told me the photos of my ♥ looked good, and my heart beats the way it should etc., but the EKG is still somewhat of a mystery. He says he doesn't think it's anything to worry about. Another doctor looked at the photos with him, and both came to the same conclusion.
I was there at 7:15am this morning, and was able to leave at around 10:45am.
He did say these tests do not show plaque buildup ~ so that was a little disappointing to hear.
At the end of the treadmill, I got crushing back and chest pain ~ the chest pain like THIS, was a first for me.
I thought i was having a damn heart attack! Apparently, it was my usual back pain, only 5-6 times worse.
My back pain/ knots/spasms,  push against my chest wall pretty often, which is why i told my doc a while back, "i would never know if i was having a ♥ attack", and then the doctor i had seen last week said the same thing to me.

I have a full physical next month, so will go over everything then;
when I can write down Q's i'll want to ask about this experience.
When Jamie called earlier to see how things went ~ I told him and then said..."I want a nice fresh salad for dinner @ our fave restaurant & then a nice walk on the beach" ~ so that's what we're going to do. :)
This summer is just about over, and we have NOT made it to the beach 1 day, because the weather sucked all summer until now.
Anyway...i'm off to stretch for a bit and get ready for dinner.
I hope you all had a great day!

These should be in my shop by Tuesday evening.

Saturday

EKG was done

I went to the doctors on Thursday ~ she said "everything *sounds* OK " in my chest ~ my BP & HR were normal.
After talking about my symptoms, she decided to do an EKG on me b4 leaving.
That showed what she called " a small abnormality" and scheduled a "Cardiolite stress test" for Tuesday of next week.

"It's a way to determine if your ♥ muscle is getting the blood supply it needs.
The test also helps find out how well your heart is working.
To perform the test, a small amount of Cardiolite is injected into your blood through IV.
A special camera is then able to take pictures of your heart.
Although Cardiolite is a radioactive material, it's safely cleared from your body by natural processes.
You will be exposed to the same amount of radiation as in a simple X-ray or CAT (CT) scan".

The treadmill will also be part of this test.

I'm allergic to IVP dye, so the first Q i asked was, "is this a dye"? ~ The answer was no.

As of now (Saturday 8-22-09) I am feeling a little better, which I'm sure is due to the hormones leaving my system. My back has been killing me due to the stressful week ~ Jamie has been working on that each evening.

The doctor did say, " with all of the back issues you have been dealing with for all these years, it could mask the symptoms of a ♥ attack".

That's because 99% of my back pain is between my shoulder blades, and moves up to my shoulders and neck, sometimes my arm. If one area bothers me, the rest follow.

I saved a "scope" for this past week ~ I get in my email weekly, just because the week b4 was accurate.

"A New Moon on Thursday in Leo brings you an opportunity to make a fresh start. You may decide to change your patterns of belief, as these create the circumstances in which you find yourself"

accurate again...

I pray my test shows *all* is OK...

~ On a more positive note ~

I managed to make 3 pr of
SS earrings today
:)

Will tumble when we get back from dinner & take photos tomorrow.

Tuesday

HRT update

I put my first patch of estradiol /estrogen on Saturday afternoon ~ took the prometrium/progesterone at bedtime ~ removed the patch on Sunday evening and stopped there.
Sunday morning my back and legs ached a LOT ~ I had heart palpitations (which i'm used too) but these were more than that...i could feel my ♥ murmur pounding as if it were on the outside of my body (s-c-a-r-y).
Even though I stopped everything, the heart issues remained.
Funny thing is, I'm not aware of this happening much until I stop moving around.

I went to the pharmacy on my way out this morning to check my BP and HR. My BP was normal but, my ♥ rate was 55 bpm one minute and 103 the next. I thought maybe it was the machine, so I went across the street to another pharmacy, and got the same readings. I checked 4 times on each machine without much change. This evening on our way out to dinner, we stopped at the pharmacy again to check ~ this time my heart rate was staying at 99 bpm.
It's now almost 11:00pm Tuesday ~ it seems to be better after a good back rub from Jamie.
I'm suppose to schedule an appt. with my GYN to discuss what I want to do from here.

If this ♥ issue doesn't go away by tomorrow, I'll be calling my doctors office to be seen.

As far as what I will do from here ~ I'll finish reading *The Wisdom of Menopause* by Christiane Northrup, and try some of the other alternatives in her book.
( I don't think hrt is 4 me )

Saturday

Miss Mika

She's always under foot these days & still loves to be chased!
She will walk by us and rub against our leg, knowing we will reach down to grab her... she will then take off like a bullet around a corner,
watching & waiting
for one of us to chase her.

Jamie is the one who goes after her most...
(a guy thing, i'm sure)
when I lay on the floor to stretch, she likes to lay close by and watch, which is what she was doing last night ~ so i grabbed the camera.
The flash does such weird things to their eyes. *.*

Wednesday

Saturday Road Trip

A trip we took down to Middlebury Vermont on Saturday.
This photo is the backside of the falls.
We had no clue you could go back there.
There were quite a few cute little shops in sweet historic buildings.
After, we walked around to the village, and did a little shopping.

The bridge went right across the water ~ I tried to cross but, it didn't happen ~ I'm afraid of heights; although if it were grass down below, I would have walked across.
Rushing water scares me more ~ besides...some of the wood planks were a little loose!

One of the cute little shops above, in a very old building.

A lil bug on Jamies finger in the truck

This is a Bactrian Camel that lives on farm on route 7
~ we finally got a pic on the way home.

Sunday

New work bench

Last night after dinner, I came upstairs to my "studio", (the studio I had grown to hate); trying to think of what I could do with the space so it would work for my needs.

I just sat here, feeling sick...sick and tired of not having a good space to work in. I haven't been getting any jewelry work done because the room was just so depressing to me.

Jamie came upstairs and sat with me for a few; we talked about what to do. His answer was, to go to Home Depot today (Sunday) and get what he needed to build me a corner work bench.

I was thrilled to hear him say that! I've been wanting one for so long but, we've had so many other things to deal with for the last 2.5 years. Well, today ~ I got my bench! We found Masonite sheets to put under the bench, instead of the plywood, to protect the carpet ~ it feels good on bare feet, and was under $5 a sheet!

I you Jamie ~ Thank You so much!

Sorry about the blur...I was NOT going to ask him to
stop & *pose* hehe

~ I'll post more photos soon ~
Will take a bit to get the room in order...

Saturday

4got to mention

I forgot to mention, I did manage to squeeze in a little time to make a pair of my larger hoops last night.

I'll get around to listing them soon,
I hope.
