Destash-ing - Preparing for the move

Things are changing around here fast.
we are having to think about moving into a
smaller space
due to my back/neck issues
(mainly neck at this point)
that seem to be getting worse.
I can have 5 very good days
and then
5-8 horrible days in a row.

I have an appt @ the Spine Institute
the beginning of April.

Hopefully they can tell me
something more
this time.

will have to try and pick up the pace once we move.
I've always been a
"pusher"
I'd push my way thru most any 'storm'
even though i new some form of pain would be waiting
for me later.
I always got thru.
~ Now ~
i'm afraid
 i've pushed myself to far.

Jamie was laid off on friday
and
is told it could be as long as 5 weeks
b4 they return to work.

Moving day is coming quick
and
i really need to get rid of the things
i no longer have use for.
So i've opened
my old shop
 CLICK HERE
to destash old stock.

Brass
Gunmetal
Copper
Gemstone rondelles & beads
Glass Beads
Metal bead caps
etc.

If you're interested, i'll be listing as fast as i
can over the next couple of weeks.

A lot of the items are small
(like the photos below)
because
my fingers aren't able to wire wrap
that small any longer.

I've re-opened my shop with 3 pr of earrings
that hadn't sold
when i closed it.
seems strange to look back on what i was doing then
and
where i'm at now.

some will be sold in lots
like below

Did You know...

How good an Epsom Salt soak can be ?

I was aware that my mom always had it on
hand growing up
and
re-call Jamie telling me once to buy some and soak
but i thought...
"what does he know about a nice hot bath?"

More than i thought...

I came across a link to this info
thru one of my blog reads.

 "Magnesium is the second-most abundant element
in human cells
and the fourth-most important positively charged ion in the body, so it's little wonder this low-profile mineral is so vital to good health and well being.
Magnesium, a major component of Epsom Salt
also helps to regulate the activity of more than 325
enzymes and performs a vital role in orchestrating
many bodily functions,
from muscle control and electrical impulses
to energy production and the elimination of harmful toxins.

The National Academy of Sciences, however, reports that most Americans are
magnesium deficient
helping to account for our society's high rate of
heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, arthritis
and
joint pain, digestive maladies
and
stress-related illnesses, chronic fatigue
and
 a host of other ailments.

The Academy
estimates
the average American male gets just
80%
of the magnesium required for good health,
while
females
get only
70%
of their recommended levels.
Nutritionists say Americans' magnesium levels
have dropped more than
50%
in the past century.

 Better health through soaking

Magnesium can be ingested as a nutritional supplement,
but studies show that a wide variety of factors -
the presence of specific foods or drugs,
certain medical conditions,
even the individual chemistry of a person's stomach acid
- can interfere with their effectiveness.
But all of the subjects in a recent study experienced increased magnesium levels from soaking in a bath enriched with magnesium sulfate crystals,
commonly known as Epsom Salt.
Researchers and physicians
report that raising your magnesium levels
may:
  • Improve heart and circulatory health, reducing irregular heartbeats, preventing hardening of the arteries, reducing blood clots and lowering blood pressure.

Improve the body's ability to use insulin, reducing the incidence or severity of diabetes.
  • Flush toxins and heavy metals from the cells, easing muscle pain and helping the body to eliminate harmful substances.
  •
  • Improve nerve function by regulating electrolytes. Also, calcium is the main conductor for electrical current in the body, and magnesium is necessary to maintain proper calcium levels in the blood.
  •
  • Relieve stress. Excess adrenaline and stress are believed to drain magnesium, a natural stress reliever, from the body. Magnesium is necessary for the body to bind adequate amounts of serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of well being and relaxation.
While increasing your magnesium levels,
Epsom Salt also delivers sulfates,
which are extremely difficult to get through food
but
which readily absorb through the skin.
Sulfates serve a wide variety of functions in the body,
playing a vital role in the formation of brain tissue,
joint proteins and the mucin proteins that line the walls of the digestive tract.
Sulfates also stimulate the pancreas to generate digestive enzymes and are believed to help detoxify the body's residue of medicines and environmental contaminants."

Just listed & Moving Day

 just listed these
2 items in my etsy shop
I'm so in love with these earrings!
I'll be making more
similar designs
soon
i hope!
Will try and squeeze in some
online time
~ later ~
to get some stone shopping done.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
we've decided
MAY 1st
will be our moving day.
I am SO looking forward to having an
eat-in
kitchen again.
I am NOT looking forward to packing everything up and hauling
it to a new place;
but
this is what
*i*
want, so
i won't complain
2 much hehe...
Jamie ~ his main concern is storage
for his bike
and tools
( he has both here)
I know he hates the idea of moving
and
sometimes
(just some-times)
i feel guilty
for feeling the need to move.
We ended up here
(it's been 4 yrs now)
under shitty circumstances
due to a
Krrr-A-zzy
landlord.
She did get what was
'due'
in court.
It took 2 years, and a whopping double fine from the judge
for them to pay up... 2 yrs was well worth the look on their faces.
The 7-8 months we lived there
was a total nightmare.
Jamie put more work into that place; always running to the basement
to fix the
electrical problems
water problems
heat problems
etc.
(in this so-called newly renovated apartment)
NOT to mention...
he had taken apart the underside of the staircase
(of this 150+ yr old farmhouse)
free of charge
to accommodate our washer & dryer
(something she will benefit from down the road
because there was only enough room for one...
once finished
you would never have guessed this was done; he did a beautiful job.
Anyway...
for you renters out there
~ watch yr backs ~
&
ask
those landlords
for
references
as well!
Friday
SHOCKED
New Jewelry & lunch
I got home around 3:00 today and headed
right for the fridge to grab some
lunch.
i recently fell in love with  this ~ yum!
The o-range
sauce/mayo/dressing/dip
is the recipe i posted below from
Julie & Sarah
on youtube.
Crisp Romaine lettuce leaves
"red pepper dip/mayo"
(youtube link below 4 recipe)
a little *totally fresh* local ricotta cheese
cucumber slices
raw sunflower seeds
raw pumpkin seeds
red onion slices
Fold over & eat like lil sandwiches.
I guess it would be quicker
and
easier
to toss in a bowl as a salad instead
but
i like this way 4 a
change.
=^.^=
the crackers i bought
when i was at the natural foods store yesterday...
they are so good!!
